PAST EVENTS
Great Wines of Italy: New York City - May 8 & 9, 2013 - New York, NY
JamesSuckling.com and Zachys hosted one of the greatest Italian wine events ever, featuring a selection of wines from 107 of Italy's best wineries. Internationally acclaimed wine critic James Suckling personally selected all the wineries, and every wine poured -- close to 400 different labels -- received no less than 90 points (outstanding quality) on JamesSuckling.com. The impressive walk-around tasting on May 8 with up to three different wines per winery included a fabulous cheese bar. The collector's magnum dinner on May 9 was a relaxed, high-end family style dinner with three courses featuring specially selected magnums from the cellars of each winery. The dinner also included a charity auction for Robin Hood -- one of the top in the city working to stamp out poverty (over $37,000 was raised!). British recording artist Isabel Suckling (the 15-year-old daughter of James) performed. The dinner additionally spotlighted the Lalique & James Suckling 100 Points universal tasting glass.

JamesSuckling.com joined forces with Hong Kong Tatler – the leading luxury magazine in Asia – to create the Great Wines of Italy event on December 4 and 5 in Hong Kong at the Island Shangri-la Hotel. The two-day event was the largest showing of premium Italian wines in Asia. Each winery attending was selected for its history of producing outstanding wines. In fact, all the wines poured during the event have outstanding reviews – 90 points or more. More than 1,200 people attended and the event was sold out two weeks in advance.
Divino Tuscany - May 17 to May 20, 2012 - Florence, Italy
Divino Tuscany 2012 took place in Florence from May 17 to 20. This event was a celebration of the best wines of Tuscany, bringing together 50 wineries from the region. The wine producers actively participated, giving those attending the chance to learn about what makes each of their wines so special. Divino Tuscany brings together consumers and producers in this exceptional festival to share wine, food and culture. Throughout the event, there were numerous performances and dinners held in some of the best restaurants in Florence, as well as private residences and palaces. Watch the video to catch bits and pieces of the festival. It was an amazing four days of superb wines, delicious food, fabulous music, and unforgettable venues.
Bellissimo Brunello - May 10, 11 & 12, 2012 - New York, NY, Los Angeles, CA & San Francisco, CA
Bellissimo Brunello 2012 took place May 10, 11 and 12 in three American cities: New York City, Los Angeles and San Francisco. The event gathered over 30 of Brunello di Montalcino's best producers. Bellissimo Brunello centered around Brunello di Montalcino 2006 Riserva and 2007 Brunello di Montalcino, two great vintages, back to back, for the very first time. I travelled throughout the United States on planes, trains and automobiles to make it to each event. Between the wine, the traveling and the exhaustion, it seemed more like a rock 'n' roll tour across the country. I had a great time. I put together this video to give you a glimpse of what happened during those three days in the three different cities.

Eccellenze Montalcino Brunello Tasting - October 28 & 29, 2011 - Beijing, China
I hosted a Brunello di Montaclino tasting and dinner in Beijing for four well-known wineries united under the group of Eccellenze Montalcino. It included San Filippo, Siro Pacenti, Valdicava, and Casanova di Neri. It was the first time an Italian wine event of it’s kind took place in China’s capital. I took the 250 participants through eight wines: four from the great 2006 vintage and four from the excellent 2004. Read my blog about it here.
