2006 Luce

James-
I read that the '06 Luce is 55% Merlot and 45% Sangiovese...can that be right? Not to quibble but, if correct, that was missing from any discussion you had with Lamberto F.
BTW, great tasting report, I'm already 4 cases deep on '06 Brunellos!
Cheers.

Hey PDN--

The Luce in question is indeed 100% Sangiovese (from a single vineyard, I believe), and designated "Brunello di Montalcino". Frescobaldi also makes an IGT of a similar (if not the same) name -- which, I agree, makes things a bit confusing! The Luce Brunello will probably hit the market (in limited quantities given how few cases are made (only around 800, I believe)) sometime in the late spring or early summer, based on what I've read. The IGT, on the other hand, has been on the market for a while already...
