I have been reading a book called "The invention of air" it's about Dr.Joseph Priestley a friend and mentor to Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and many more important people...Dr. Priestley was a Renaissance man much like Franklin. He was the first to discover the idea of carbonating water and beverages as well as the idea of an ecosystem and the function of humans breathing O2 and plants breathing C02 etc...it is a fascinating book to say the least...

First a few disclaimers: I am conservative, though I wouldn't say hard core right wing. And I liked Bush but didn't think he was infallible. That said, just from a historical standpoint, I loved the book. Blew through it. It gave tremendous insight not only to the workings of the oval office, but what the President must deal with on a daily basis. It presented factors that influenced all his major decisions and I thought he was quick to point out the mistakes he made, and what he would have done differently. I got the book for Christmas, but if I had spent the money for it myself, I would not have been disappointed.

sounds like an interesting read, I will have to pick up a copy.

On a side not to this post, I am reading journal articles about the 1960's, what an interesting decade.

Recently I have been reading Gary Vaynerchuk's first book, 101 Wines. It's more of a list of wines Gary likes and thinks people should try. The book is actually pretty good so far. I get a good laugh about every wine he reviews. His personality shows through in the text.

Glad to be here in the forum!

Hi everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself as I see a number of familiar names on this forum. I love cigars and wine so this forum will be a good fit. I'm currently reading different scholarly journals in preparation for an annual conference that I will be attending in June. I am reading articles from Medicince and Science in Sports and Exercise, The Journal of Pain, Nature, and Pain.

Just Finished Matt Kramer's "Making Sense Of Burgundy". It was the the first book on Burgundy which described Burgundy in logical detail and order. His new book on essays really "hits the spot" when talking honestly about wine. It is a beautiful and easy read. I'm trying to find a good book on Borolo and Barbaresco. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I just finished reading The Castle in The Forest a couple of days back and it is about the supposedly untold stories about Hitler and his family.

Will work on Russell Brand's Booky Wook probably tomorrow. I have read and heard mixed comments about it. Anyone has read that book yet?
