Mr. Suckling has so much experience in tasting wine and just as much in cuisine: what about a place on the site for Suckling's Hot Spots?.. :ugeek:

Mr. Suckling sharing info is what JamesSuckling.com is all about. I know that you are a wealth of knowledge and you must eat when you drink so why not?

Otto e Mezzo in Hong Kong is one of my favorite Italian restaurants at the moment. Tamarind in London is great for Indian. Went to Tinga last night for high end tacos and Smith-Haut Lafitte Blanc (BYOB) in LA. I am really into ethnic food at the moment.

Otto e mezzo is my favorite Fellini movie. Although The Bicycle Thief is the best Italian film ever.

Anyway, I agree with your ethnic food vibe. The best Indian is my Sri Lankan wife's Aunt's fish samosas. But since I ate them all, if you're in Toronto, Nirvana in Mississauga (Hurontario and Brittania area) is fantastic.

Just got back from Napa yesterday. On the way home stopped in Houston to visit my son. He took us to a great restuarant : Samba Grill. It's has a South American flair, interesting meat and fish dishes. The wine list is incredible. Just written up in Wine Enthusiast mag for top 100 restuarants with best wine list. What was really incredible were the prices. I paid less for a bottle at the restuarant than I would retail! I had a 2004 Orlando Abrigo Barbaresco for $77.00. On the list was a Henri Jayer 1 Cru Nuit St. George for $85.00(can't remember vintage). About Houston, it has many great restuarants. It also has more upscale wine bars than CVS pharmacies.

In London, go to La Petite Maison in Brooks Mews. Highly recommended.

Kuala Lumpur-many places along Jalan Alor where James good friend Mr. Bourdain ate. Fabulous place called Tamarind Springs is my favorite it is Asian Fusion at it's best. Local places like Mei Keng Fatt for Chili crabs too. All are cigar friendly. James you need to come to KL next time in Asia!

I'm spending a week in London before I'm headed to France for 8 months. Can anybody recommend some good pubs or some good under-the-radar restaurants? Thanks.
