(Click here for the English version)

I have been away for a few days to recover from three weeks of dinners and tastings, and Biarritz was the perfect place to go. If you go there, try La Ferme Ostlapia in Ahetze. The food is great and the rooms are most enchanting. While I was there, the campaign for 2010 En Primeur started (meaning the 2010 is now being sold as futures) with the releases of Lanessan and Petit Bocq, two Cru Bourgeois. There is no set order for releases in Bordeaux, and sometimes a big château goes for it. But usually it is the Cru Bourgeois who start it all, as is the case this year. Next week should see the release of more such wines. There are some wonderful wines to purchase in that category; they are great values. (Lanessan and Petit Bocq were up five percent from 2010.)

Great value and up 5%? I don't think so, the 09's were expensive enough.
I will wait till the market calms down before I buy, I only to wait till the 2011 harvest for the next vintage of the century.

I mentioned already Lanessan and Petit Bocq one call also look at Mille Roses in Haut Medoc.Cambon La Pelouse.or Sénéjac. The list is quite long. You can check on James's Report of course.Next fall it will be a god idea to have a look at the 09 when they will be available there are also tremendous values in that category of wines.
There is an old saying in Bordeaux "Always buy the lesser wines in the great years".

By the way 5 pct is indeed an increase but we are talking of wines where the opening prices are in the 6/7,50 opening prices so these increases
are a good reward for the producers in my view
Enjoy
