2010 Brunello di Montalcino – Siro Pacenti

Tuesday, December 1, 2015

Giancarlo Pacenti, Siro Pacenti’s owner and winemaker, is truly one of the masters of Brunello. His wines, which are a blend of vineyards from the north and south sides of Montalcino, show the exceptional characteristics of both of these sub-zones combining beautifully the power and structure of the southern sections with the precision and elegance of the northern slopes. As James commented on Pacenti's Brunellos, "[Siro Pacenti] is a leader in the production of Brunello di Montalcino."

His 2010 is a masterpiece and as Giancarlo himself mentions in this video, 2010 is not only an exceptional vintage but it is also a vintage to reflect on. It is a vintage that could very well become a reference point for the new style of Brunello di Montalcino. James rated his 2010 Brunello a perfect 100 points. Click here for James' tasting note.
