Piedmont: Azienda Agricola Cogno – 125 year old vines

Thursday, November 29, 2012

The Cogno family has been making wine in the Langhe for four generations. The Elvio Cogno winery is located at the top of Bricco Ravera in the commune of Novello, one of the eleven communes where Barolo is produced. In this video James met with owner and winemaker Valter Fissore to discuss a very special wine, a pre-phylloxera Barbera D'Alba made from 125 year old vines! Watch the video and hear James describe the wine as well as the story behind these ancient vines. Enjoy!
