James talks in Buenos Aires with Piero Incisa della Rocchetta of Patagonian winery Bodega Chacra about the 2023 vintage, which was a difficult year because of frost, and yet the small crop produced vibrant and fruit-forward wines showing energy and brightness. Piero elaborates on 2023 and says how it compares to past vintages.
"In terms of the character of the vintage, I think it reminds me a little of 2010 and 2013 in terms of this electric vibrancy of the profile of the wines. I find the wines to be electric, I find them to be very zingy, I find them to be fruit forward but not overly fruity. I think it's a smaller vintage ... but I think it's a very, very good vintage."
