Bordeaux 2009: A Conversation About '09 Cos d’Estournel

Jean-Guillaume Prats, the president of Cos d’Estournel, is making some of the most structured wines in Bordeaux at his famous second growth estate in Saint-Estèphe. His 2009 Cos was my Wine of the Year in 2011 after tasting it in Hong Kong during a Robert Parker tasting. I scored it 100 points.

Last January, I went back to the winery in Bordeaux, and I tasted the wine with Jean-Guillaume. The wine was phenomenal. We had an interesting conversation how the 2009 compares to other legendary vintages for Bordeaux, as well as the unique style of the 2009 Cos.
