Bordeaux 2012: Château Brane-Cantenac

Wednesday, April 15, 2015

For Henri Lurton, who owns the great Margaux second growth of Brane-Cantenac, 2012 was an excellent vintage. Despite not showing the structure of the very top years, it displays superb balanced fruit and tannins. The 2012s are wines with cellar potential of 10, 15, maybe even 20 years according to Lurton.

Lurton is evidently very happy with his results in 2012 as the growing season presented challenges at Bran-Cantenac. In particular, temperatures remained low in the summer months after being warmer than usual that spring.
