Bordeaux 2013 En Primeur: Château Suduiraut

Tuesday, April 8, 2014

According to Christian Seely, managing director of AXA Millésimes and a head of the famous Sauternes estate of Château Suduiraut:  "2013 was a lovely year for Sauternes." One of the pivotal differences, he notes, with recent more mature vintages is the point of maturation when botrytis arrived. In years like 2005 or 2009, the noble rot infected the grapes when they had already reached optimum ripeness, while in vintages like 2011 or 2007 botrytis arrived on grapes with "a different balance" - higher acidities

Watch the video and learn what makes 2013 exceptional for his Sauternes.
