Bordeaux 2015 En Primeur – Palmer's Thomas Duroux Compares 2015

The 2015 vintage is one of the warmest vintages since 2009 or 2005. Christian Moueix, owner of Château La Fleur-Pétrus, Hosanna and Trotanoy, said that in his 45-year career, 2015 is the most exuberant wine he has ever made. Despite the qualitative level associated to the ripeness achieved in great warm vintages like 2015, a wine still needs to have a sense of balance between the alcohol, the acidity and the tannins. So in a vintage like 2015 acidity tends to be lower. 

In this video, Thomas Duroux, managing director and winemaker at Château Palmer, comments on the quality of tannins and the balance it brings to the wine in ripe years like 2015.
