Burgundy 2013: Louis Jadot's Frédéric Barnier

Thursday, June 18, 2015

Technical director Frédéric Barnier has been at the helm of Louis Jadot since 2010 when he took over after legendary winemaker Jacques Lardière retired on his 40th vintage. Maison Louis Jadot has been operating in Burgundy since 1859 and it controls over 270 hectares in the Burgundy region, including the Mâconnais and Baujolais.

In this video, Frédéric comments on the 2013 vintage in Burgundy. For him, it was an unexpected surprise as the climatic conditions throughout the growing season were very challenging. As Frédéric explains, spring was rainy, and during the crucial month of September when "the wine is made," the weather remained cloudy for the most part.
