Ceretto: Barolo 2007

The Ceretto family has been winemaking leaders in Piedmont since the 1970s, but I think that the young generation currently in charge of the wine empire is making some of the most moving wines yet. I have always been a fan of Ceretto Barolos, especially the top single vineyard wine of Bricco Rocche Bricco Rocche. About a month ago, I visited the family’s Bricco Rocche winery near the town of Castiglione Falletto and I tasted their top Barolos with Alessandro, who is in charge of winemaking. We discussed the quality of the excellent 2007 vintage as well as the quality of their various wines.
