Champagne: Taittinger – Comtes de Champagne

Friday, October 16, 2015

Taittinger’s Comtes de Champagne is one of the legendary Blanc de Blancs of the region. As Vitalie Taittinger, marketing director and co-owner of the estate, explains, it is made with a thorough selection of the finest fruit from the Côte de Blancs – a 20 km eastern facing hill that is considered Champagne’s chardonnay cradle. The wine is made using only the juice obtained from the first pressing; only the purest juice from these grapes goes into this unique bottling. Before disgorgement, the wine is aged for 10 years.
