A Conversation with Pétrus Winemaker on 2009, 2010

Wednesday, March 21, 2012

The winemaker of Château Pétrus, Olivier Berrouet, is articulate and passionate about what he does. Even though he has only been making wine at the famous Bordeaux estate for a couple of years, he has grown up with the great wines of Pétrus because his father Jean-Claude was winemaker before him. Olivier is ensuring an important winemaker linage for the property

I tasted the 2009 and 2010 Pétrus with him earlier this year and we decided to discuss the two vintages in the small cellar of the property. The winery is being torn down and renovated, so it may be the last time you see it in this video. See which vintage Olivier prefers

Check out my 2009 bottle report or 2010 barrel report, if you haven’t seen them.
