I had fun doing a comparative cigar tasting in Las Vegas a few months back at the Rhumbar at the Mirage with a Partagas Serie D No. 4 and a Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No. 2 – both Cubans. These are the most popular Robustos made on the island. The Partagas is made at the Partagas factory and the Hoyo comes from the La Corona fabrica. I really thought the Serie D would slaughter the Hoyo. But it didn’t. That’s a big surprise for me, and probably it’s a surprise for you too, if you love Cuban cigars.
