James was happy to revisit the Sardinian vineyard of Capichera a few weeks ago. Under the new ownership of Carlo Bonomi, a well-respected financier in Italy, the estate is undergoing a transformation, featuring a new winery and upgraded vineyards. The standout wines here are the vermentino-based whites, which exhibit a unique mineral character. They are also refining their red wines – primarily syrah with some cannonau.
