Haut Brion: 2010 Bordeaux in Bottle

Tuesday, February 19, 2013

James recently visited the legendary first growth Château Haut-Brion to taste the 2010 in bottle. The wines were spectacular but James was particularly impressed by the 2010 Château La Mission Haut Brion.

James asked Haut Brion’s chief winemaker and manager Jean Philippe Delmas what was behind such an amazing wine. For Jean Philippe, who is is the third generation of Delmas in charge of the Pessac-Léognan first growth, the main reason was finding the perfect ripeness for the Cabernet Sauvignon.

James was also surprised by the 2010 La Chappelle de la Mission Haut Brion. The superb quality of the second wine is a clear indicator of what a great vintage 2010 was in Bordeaux. Enjoy!
