JamesSuckling.com's 2015 Harvest Video Competition: Runner-Up #7 – Poggio La Noce

Friday, December 18, 2015

Overlooking Florence from the Fiesole Hills is Poggio La Noce. This French and Italian-owned estate focuses on crafting elegant sangiovese that shows the character of their distinct location. Sandwiched between Chianti Classico and Florence, what makes Poggio La Noce unique is that a pinch of Alto Adige's teroldego is always added to its sangiovese, giving a peppery and minty component to the wine.

We liked this video for its casual yet informative style. Owners Enzo Schiano and Claire Beliard comment on the unique characteristics of their vineyard here as well as on how they harvest at the estate. Nothing is rehearsed, and while they transmit the story of their harvest with spontaneity, a sense of passion and dedication for their wines is equally present.
