Lou Kapcsandy and his family purchased the famous State Lane Vineyard in 2000, a year after phylloxera had destroyed its vines. They immediately set out to replant the vineyard with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. At the same time, they started building the Kapcsandy Family wine-making facility next to the property. Since then, they have been making outstanding bordeaux-blend wines in a fruit-forward style that is reminiscent of the glorious California reds of Andre Tschelistcheff.
James joins Lou and his son Louis to taste their Estate Cuvee, Roberta's Reserve Merlot, and Grand Vin from the 2006, 2007 and 2008 vintage.
