L'Eglise Clinet: 2000, 2003, 2005, 2009

Thursday, February 9, 2012

I found this video that I didn’t post yet, and it’s on one of my favorite wines from Bordeaux: the wonderful Pomerol of L’Eglise-Clinet. The small estate is the baby of winemaker and owner Denis Durantou. He is one of the vineyard growers and winemaker geniuses of Bordeaux. He’s more Burgundian in his hands-on attention to detail than Bordelaise, and his wines have a wonderful purity and focus.

Check out the tasting I did in his cellar. I love the scene in the video when Denis says that if  “you want more friends, drink the 2000.” I couldn’t agree more! :) I was so enthused about the wines during this tasting.
