I visited Bordeaux's famous first growth Château Mouton Rothschild last December. The Pauillac estate has had its ups and downs, but the arrival of Phillipe Dhalluin a few years ago has brought a more focused discipline to the winemaker -- in other words, better and better quality. The blend is traditionally mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot and Cabernet Franc and a tiny bit of Petit Verdot. I tasted the four of the last five vintages at the property with Dhalluin including 2000, 2003, 2005, and 2009. See which vintage I think could be the greatest since 1959 or 1982.
