James spent a week in mid-June pruning his pinot noir vines in Martinborough, New Zealand. With the help of pruning guru Marco Simonit, he learned how pruning can set his vines for the season but also rejuvenate them for the future. Most important is that he developed an intimate relationship with the vines and the wonderful nature of New Zealand.
