The opening scene tells you so much about this wine. The sight of the gnarly vines tells you a story of a past, a long past. These old vines, some more than 50 years old, have lent their flavors to Opus One, Joseph Phelps, Robert Mondavi, and Beaulieu Vineyards over the decades. The vineyards are all dry farmed and located next to Dominus. Owners Bret Lopez and Mimi de Blasio sit down with James and are joined by winemaker Celia Welch and Mike Wolf at the Rutherford Estate. What follows is as personal as hushed conversation... Watch and listen in on the exchange between James and the Scarecrow team.
