On Tuesday the 28th of February 2012 at the "Palacio de las Convenciones", the location where most of the events of the XIV Havana Cigar Festival happened, a special tasting took place. This tasting gathered a few lucky individuals for the "maridaje" (marriage) of two precious stones of the most iconic and characteristic products made in Cuba; rum and cigars. These precious stones are the Havana Club Maximo and the legendary Cohiba Behike 54. Briefly, The Maximo, of extremely limited production, is a blend of the oldest and greatest reserves of Cuban rum. The Behike 54, also extremely limited, is one of the most exclusive lines produced by Cohiba. James wrote a complete blog on this tasting that you should absolutely read for a complete insight.
This is the first video, there will be more coming up, with some footage of James Suckling and James Orr giving their insights on the combination of these unique gems. There will also be a video of Jose Navarro, the head blender of Havana Club, speaking about the combination of both the Behike and the Maximo. And who as James Orr, director of "Cigars: the heart and soul of Cuba", rightly said; is a true poet. Please stay tuned for more.
