Bordeaux:Tasting 2009 and 2010 Pétrus

This video of tasting 2009 and 2010 Château Pétrus, the legendary Pomerol, was shot during my 2009 tasting trip to Bordeaux in January. Please check out the 2009 tasting report if you haven’t already.

It was a crazy tasting in the tiny cellar of Pétrus because these two vintages are some of the greatest ever from the small estate. Are they like the perfect 1989 and 1990? I think they may be better – but you can’t give more than 100 points.

Check out how I described the wines, and how I have a slight preference for the 2010, which should be a perfect 100-point wine. Great young wines like this come seldom in one’s life.
