TASTING 2019 BORDEAUX WINES WITH EDOUARD MOUEIX

Thursday, January 20, 2022

Edouard Moueix, the deputy general manager of Jean-Pierre Moueix in Bordeaux, talks with James about his thoughts on the 2019 vintage.

The wines come with a "beautiful maturity yet a certain freshness ... and that was due to a day that I'm sure everyone has mentioned – the 26th of July, where we had 36 millimeters of rain after a fairly hot period and dry period," Edouard says. "It gave a second breath to the vines, which managed to not block through that maturity and therefore keep that freshness."

Have a listen to their conversation about the vintage, viticulture and winemaking, which lasts until the 15:10 mark, when Edouard and James turn to tasting.
