The Okanagan Valley in British Columbia may still be undiscovered for many wine lovers outside Canada, but the quality and ambition are clear. James Suckling and Editor-at-Large Jim Gordon spent five days tasting about 200 wines from across the valley, visiting vineyards and meeting winemakers from West Kelowna down to Okanagan Falls and the South Okanagan. The top quality of riesling and pinot noir were clear messages during the trip, with chardonnay also showing very well at estates such as Martin’s Lane and CheckMate. They also saw the regeneration work after the severe frost of 2024, with many growers retrunking vines. Watch James’ thoughts from the trip, and stay tuned for the full report on JamesSuckling.com.
