Australia: Tyrrell's Winery, The Vineyard

James visited Tyrrell's vineyard located in Pokolbin, Lower Hunter Valley in New South Wales, Australia. The vineyard is located in the extreme southern side in relatively flat terrain surrounded by the beautiful Brokeback range. 

The grape varieties grown by Tyrrell's in the Hunter Valley area are Shiraz, Chardonnay, Semillon, Pinot Noir and Trebbiano. The Shiraz and Semillon grapes showing exceptional results. 

In this video James, along with father and son Bruce and Chris Tyrrell discuss the unique qualities the vineyard has and how these special qualities make their way into the wines. The vineyards first plantings date all the way back to 1879, owners Bruce and Chris Tyrrell are especially proud of this. Watch the video for more!
