Tasting Report: Best of 2013 Bordeaux

The nearly 400 wines listed below were reviewed during a two-week tasting trip to Bordeaux a few weeks ago to cover the 2013 vintage in bottle. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the reds considering the bad reputation the wines have. Some of the harshest critics were the region's winemakers themselves. Many refused to send samples. I wondered why they bottled the wines then? The whites - both dry and sweet - are sublime quality. No problems there.

I recommend immediately drinking most of the reds while the whites can be enjoyed now or aged in the future. Check out my article on the vintage.
