773 TASTING NOTES

I was really excited to tasted the 2015 Bordeaux from barrel over three weeks in Bordeaux beginning March 15. Some amazing wines exist. (Click here for my thoughts on the vintage).

The best appellations are Pomerol, St. Emilion, Pessac-Léognan, and Margaux but there are lots of smaller appellations that excelled including Lalande-de-Pomerol and Fronsac. But the top châteaux in the Médoc also made some excellent quality wines despite problems with rain before the harvest and at the end.

Below are wines that I tasted in châteaux, in négociant tasting rooms, and in my tasting room. They are scored with a two-point scale using the 100-point system. This underlines that they are unfinished, barrel samples. I gave eight perfect scores of 100-100 in total: Canon, Lafleur, La Mission Haut-Brion, Margaux, Pétrus, Trotanoy, Pavie and Ausone. But there are many amazing wines in 2015. Here are about 750 tasting notes.
