Connecting the World of Wine with the Right Audience in New York

Wednesday, Jun 18, 2025

James Suckling Great Wines World New York concluded last week with a record turnout of 6,000 attendees over two days at The Glasshouse, reinforcing the city’s position as a critical hub for international wine culture.

The event once again united the global wine community, bringing together leading producers, key trade professionals and a new generation of wine lovers for a dynamic tasting experience.

It also delivered a timely message: In a world where the wine industry faces mounting challenges, connecting with the right audience has never been more vital.

“News reports keep saying the wine business is in decline and that people aren’t drinking wine,” James Suckling told the crowd on Wednesday. “But look around. We’re all here enjoying wine together. We should be optimistic.”

As producers confront evolving consumption trends and economic uncertainty, James Suckling Great Wines World offered exactly what was needed—direct access to engaged buyers, sommeliers, retailers and hospitality leaders.

Equally significant was the presence of a younger, affluent audience aged 26 to 35—an emerging force in the market. These are tomorrow’s tastemakers, and the event gave producers valuable one-on-one time with this high-spending, curious demographic.

With more than 800 wines from 380 producers across 55 regions, the event provided an extraordinary opportunity to build brand visibility and long-term relationships in the U.S. market. Alongside benchmark labels from iconic regions were exciting discoveries from countries such as Armenia, Greece, Romania and Slovenia. Winery owners, head winemakers and enologists were on hand to present their wines personally.

Next Stop: Great Wines Italy New York on September 3 and 4! You can also catch James Suckling and the team continuing our mission to connect top producers with key audiences around the world at one of our upcoming events in Bangkok (Oct 29), Hong Kong (Oct 31), Seoul (Nov 3) and Tokyo (Nov 5).

We’ll also return to the U.S. in 2026 with events in Miami, New York and San Francisco.

See you there!
