Domaine Leflaive Batard Montrachet 2002

This was part of a lunch yesterday at an amazing high-end Japanese French fusion restaurant (two Michelin stars) called Wagyu Takumi in Wan Chai, Hong Kong. The 2002 Batard is just opening up now with superb density and depth of ripe fruit that offers dried mango, honey and hints of white pepper. It feels like a red Burgundy in the mouth. It's full and intense with an oily undertone. This has a long life ahead of it. 98 points
